MediaSmart EX490 EX495 Mac OS X Set-up Questions

With the EX490 or EX495 can I set-up 'duplication' of folders, and the 'backup all data to a hard drive to store off-site' on the Mac, or do I need to do these settings on a Windows PC only?

 

If Windows only, can I do this with VMWare Fusion and Windows 7 setup?

 

Plus what format should I have the hard drives to work for storing data from both Windows and Mac platforms (I have a PC & two Macs)?
