I am looking for advice on improving the apparently very limited capabilities of Twonky streaming
I have an EX487 server (purchased 11/09) connected via ethernet to my Denon 4308 receiver. I have transferred my music to the server as FLAC files along with the appropriate tags. I regarded the ablility of Twonky to serve the lossless FLAC files as an advantage.
Twonky is serving the FLAC files and I can play them from the receiver - so I consider myself fortunate compared to some of the horror stories I have read on this forum.
But there are very limited options in terms of how to organize and play the music. I can only see my music listed under "albums." There is a folder for "favorites" and "playlists", but I cannot tell how to populate these. I would dearly love to organize the music by artist (as the Windows Media Server can), but there seems to be no way to do this.
There is no support documentation for how to work with Twonky and, as others have clearly experienced, Twonky custormer support appears to be run by the same code that was used in the ancient artificial intelligence program/game ELIZA, the psychiatrist. It looks for key words in your email and spits back canned answers. "How does that make you feel?"
Can anyone suggest how I can improve the management and serving of my FLAC files on the mediasmart server?
I would be happy to purchase software if it helped.
Thanks
