My HP SimpleSave software seems to terminate when launched.

Cannot bring up SimpleSave program.  It just briefly flashes on, then disappears.  Is the Norton 360  or Speedy PC Pro blocking the software or something else?  I tried to download the software, but may have done it incorrectly.  I need a step-by-step guide.
