My N6310 scanner won't scan single-sid ed using the TWAIN driver.

I'm using Acrobat Standard 9.x to scan a series of documents, requiring each one to scan only the first side. When I scan using the HP software, it does so with no issues. However, when I try to run this scan through Adobe Acrobat (using the TWAIN driver), and ensure 'Front Sides Only' is selected, the scan still takes both sides of every sheet of paper.
I've gone through every setting I can find, however cannot get a stack of paper to scan through single-sided using the TWAIN driver.
