Taking 30 minutes to print with USB connection- C4780 Printer

So I have been using my C4780 for over a year. I was sent Snow Leopard with my Mac Book when I ordered it but had a product that was no supported by snow leopard so I stuck with Leopard for the year. I recently upgraded to snow leopard and the printer now takes at least 30 minutes to process and print when connected to USB. This is terrible! I uninstalled the software upgrade from the website and reinstalled it and it there was no change. Can someone help? I have not found this problem posted for the USB, only the wireless printing.

Hey there. Lets try reseting the printing system first:

 

Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
- Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Default tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.
