USB Media Port Replicator - External Monitor does not work and the Ethernet connection is very slow

I have a Pavilion DV7T laptop and a USB Media Port Replicator.  The External Monitor does not work and the ethernet connection is very slow.  I have updated the drivers for both of these items, but still not luck.  Any Suggestions?
