V210W 8GB not detected with USB 2.0 port

Hi,

 I have a strange problem. I bought a new 8GB HP V210W pen drive in Chennai.It is not detected in USB 2.0 Ports of my Sony VAIO laptop running Windows 7 (Home Preminum) .

But when I insert the same in e-SATA port of my laptop, pen drive is detected and I could able to copy data into the drive. 

Also tried in my friend's laptop running Windows XP. Drive is not detected.

Any help would be much appriciated.

Hello i also bought same model pen drive from chennai and facing same problem.

The pendrive suddenly stopped being detected by any PC a few days back, neither with XP SP3 nor with Windows 7 Ultimate.

         I bought this 8 GB pen drive around 20 days back.

This is really strange that when we insert any device into USB port , there should be some reaction seen from the computer(device recognized or not recognized) but absolutely nothing happens in my case.

Can HP help please... otherwise i will certainly stop buying any HP product for life time becasue i have a very bad experiece with HP products. My laptop HP probook 4520s is also giving me sleepless nights.

I have the same problem - the dribe has been replaced once, but both of them worked for a week then don't register on any device - PC, laptop, Mac or Xbox - none of them see the drive.

I wonder if they're not all faulty...

Hey hi , i bought a Hp v210w 8gb usb drive about a month ago, it was working properly but suddenly my laptop quit recognising the device, my device works on other computers and also there is not another issue with the laptop usb ports .. kindly help me out what should i do to make it work properly on my laptop aswell ?

I managed to do a low level format on mine in the end - but not using my main PC, I had to do it on a different computer, a laptop... Once that was done, I could read the drive in both PCs, but the XBox360 still refuses to accept it, says it's not functioning right.

I can't risk losing all the info off it for a third time, so it's in the bin for mine, and no more HP usb sticks - never had any trouble with any other brands, but this is the 2nd HP one I've had that's died within 6 months of buying it.

Hi there, did you get this sorted as I am having same issue with my HP v210w USB. It was working fine in my old USB we did copy pics from there and now in new laptop it's not getting detected. Tried 2 other laptops of my friend but of no use. Your help will be appreciated.
