Can someone tell me what the "#ABA" means at the end of the Procurve Product Number?

ie:

Is there a difference between J4899A#ABA    &   J4899A   ?

Thanks,

dspitz

The #ABA is an option code that means "North America".  HP uses this option code to specify which region the product will be sold to.  For example, the power cord, user documentation, quick setup guide, would be customized for North America.

Different option codes would be used for Spain or England, for example, since they are configured for a different part of the world.

Hope that is clear.

Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

is there a table available somewhere that would explain all the different codes?

What I really need to know right now is what the ABC stands for, as the sales person told me it might stand for "french" language and i dont need a french computer.

I always thought it meant "English Language."  This came from imaging HP workstations, where you must select #ABA in order to install the OS with the English language.
