iPAQ not finding SD card

I have an HP iPAQ GPS Travel Companion model HP5765. I bought an 4 GB SD card today and while the iPAQ seems to know that it's there, I can't see it in File Manager on the iPAQ. I was wondering if the card needs formatting except that I can't see a way to do it on the iPAQ??

If someone could give me a few clues it'd be great.

A bit more info: the card I bought was an SDHC which only works on the Ver 2.00 specification. Does anyone know if the iPAQ RX 5765 has that port spec? The manual doesn't say. --geoff

Thanks for that. It's been a while since I used the forum and I'd lost the URL.

Anyway FYI I have the answer, the iPAQ can only cope with ordinary SD cards. The one I was using was an SDHC (HC=Hi Capacity). It's restricted to 2GB. That doesn't matter for my application as even 1GB is plenty of space. I've since bought a 2GB SD card and the iPAQ instantly found it.

Could the SD card information I found be included in any future iPAQ user guide? I wasted a lot of time trying to find the answer, not to mention petrol going to a computer shop to buy the dud SDHD card in 45 degree heat. (45deg. C = 116deg F approx) on a total fire ban day thru smoke haze across the city of Melbourne, Australia.
