mediasmart EX485 server will not start

I found that the server had shutdown during the night and I tried to turn it back on. All power and network connections were attached securely and the unit had power, but pushing the power button did absolutely nothing. Several weeks later I have the same problem and the same amount of knowledge. I have eliminated the possibility that the power cord is bad and am beginning to think that I may have burned it out since I accidentally left it on for a while without any system drive for a few days. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
