Does anyone know if the HP Mini 110-1025DX can be upgraded to 2GB of memory? The instructions says that it can but is OS specific (Supports up to 2 GB of system memory in HP Mini 1101 NoteBook PC, and HP Mini 110 with Mobile Mi installed only) but I wanted to know if anyone has successfully tried using 2GB of memory in the HP Mini 110-1025 DX running Windows XP Home with SP3??
Thanks

Hi,
Even though HP states 1 GB max, it appears that an upgrade to 2GB is viable. Here is a link to a video on youtube where a guy has done exactly that. I am unaware if he has SP3 installed or not. That shouldn't make a difference anyway.
regards,
erico

I would like to get your advice. ![]()
I want to buy a HP Mini 110-1134TU by Studio Tord Boontje, according to some documents I found it seems the RAM could be expanded to 2GB.
Could you please provide me your advice and let me know the right type of memory I need to buy to expand it to 2GB?
Thank you in advence for your help.

I am no memory expert, but why would 6400 work with 1 gig but not with 2 gig. the 6400 should be a litte faster. Has anyone out there uses 6400 2 gig? i have an Mini 110-1020NR that my wife just won in a raffle. It's a little sluggish and am thinking about upgrading from 1 gig to 2 gig. Kind of bumbed that this only has one memory slot. It would have been easier and cheaper to just to get the same memory thats already there, becausue I would know for sure what to buy and not have to disguard the one thats already there.

firedude52 don't post useless advice.
I have 1025DX and 2GB 6400 works perfect on it.

Yes, the 2GB upgrade works in all of the HP Mini 110 series netbooks. Despite one persons claim on here, the PC6400 works just as well as the PC5300. The main concern here is the FSB speed which must be acceptable/match the FSB speed for the Minis. You'll also be hard pressed to find much of the PC5300 2 gb sticks where as the PC6400 2gb is readily available and in good supply.
I've used both PC5300 and PC6400 2 gb sticks in 3 different minis Mini 110-1025DX, Mini 110-1030,and the Mini110-1020. The biggest gains were in the start up speed, program activation speed, and a shorter shutdown time. The largest gain is startup time which is almost cut in half.

So. If the HP Mini 110 has a 533MHz FSB can you use the faster PC6400 800Mhz module with out very much risk?
If not and and you need to match the FSB speed as stated above then should you be installing a PC4200 533mhz module for compatability?

yo,
HP Mini 110 series here. Been running the 6400 2GB stick, runs smooth and is better than what it was. i pulled the 2GB stick out of a sorely missed Sony Vaio if it helps anyone.
