Accidentally uninstalled touchpad driver...

So I mistakenly uninstalled the Synaptics pointing device driver from my Pavilion dv6 notebook, and now my touchpad has lost its scrolling capability.  I tried looking for the driver online to install it again but cant seem to find it.  Any suggestions on what I can do?  I just want my pad to be able to scroll again!  HELP PLEASE/THANK YOU

Re: Accidentally uninstalled touchpad driver...

Hi:

Here is the Vista driver for your touchpad:

Or you can download the latest generic driver directly from the Synaptics website:

Re: Accidentally uninstalled touchpad driver...

The same thing happened to me this weekend, only I was running windows 7.  The way I fixed my issue was to go back and uninstall the Synaptics software as well as the driver, restart the notebook a couple of times, then update the synaptics driver software to get all the scrolling features back on (i like to use the double finger scrolling method).  Of course you could always try a MS System Restore to before you deleted the driver.  Hope this helps :smileyhappy:
