After clean install of Win 7 pro on Pavillion DV6-6147tx I no longer have access to Universal USB ports.  I can not find a driver to download from HP downloads or on disc 3 of recovery discs. USB 3 ports  o.k.

Hi:

 

Did you install the chipset driver?

 

That controls the USB ports.

I tried that but it was no help. I was able to download most other drivers bur the two usb2 ports are still unavailable. Thanks for the reply. Max

I have finally resolved my usb 2 problem with an NEC driver downloaded from HP believe it or not.. It took a substantial amount oh hunting up via other websites. My contact with HP service was a waste of time.

The relative driver is SP47677.EXE from HP , It worked wonders but it doesn't show up on a search of the HP website.

 

I have solved my own problem.
