I have a CQ50 139WM and I was wondering how long am I suppose to charge the battery for it to be fully charged and its it okay if I use my notebook all the time on the Ac adapted because Ihate the idea of having to use it on battery unless I really need it.

Hi ridz20,
I found this version of the service manual for the CQ50 online: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01572022.pdf On page 10, it shows you the battery status indicator light, and the varying degrees at which it lights (fully, blinking, off) [See pasted text below]. Based on those descriptions (below), I would suggest that your notebook is fully charged (for the 1st time, and each subsequent charging period) once the battery light indicator turns off. On a separate note, I have 2 personal, and 1 work notebook, and I ALWAYS leave each of them plugged into an external power source, unless I'm traveling...
However, your post prompted me to dig a little deeper, and I came across this article as well: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docnam
Battery light
On: A battery is charging.
Blinking: A battery that is the only available power source has reached a low battery level. When the battery reaches a critical battery level, the battery light begins blinking rapidly.
Off: If the computer is plugged into an external power source, the light is turned off when all batteries in the computer are fully charged. If the computer is not plugged into an external power source, the light stays off until the battery reaches a low battery level.
