Brand new pavilion dv6 notebook so slow. I have just bought a new pavilion dv6

It is so slow, takes ages to boot up and when I shut down it is busy installing loads of updates.  I have deleted a lot of the programmes that came with it which improved slightly but not much.  Anyone any suggestions, will deleting the recovery drive help, i have done backup discs.

I have also purchased a brand new HP dv6 core I5 6GB RAM 640 Hdisk, The sound quality is amazing but the laptop is tooooooo sloww. It took a lifetime just to install the bluetooth mouse and wireless headset. Everything is slow. I have tried comparing everything to my old Toshiba satellite c660, restart both devices, opened the same website sumultaneously and my HP is so slow, I am very very disapointed.

 

I can return the unit to Extrastores but they would charge 15% of the HP laptop's price for replacement or return.

 

I'm really really frustrated thanks to HP!!!!
