I just read where Microsoft says there is a problem with some function keys in Windows 7 and there is a hotfix available. However, if I cannot get online, how would I possibly get the download??

download the hotfix to another computer and carry it over on a usb stick. it could be a hardware issue on the pc. I would advise contacting hp for support

I was having this problem on one of our computers.  I tried removing the battery, pressing the power button as instructed, and then turning back on the computer pressing fn +fn12 keys.  It worked!  Thank you so much.
