Why not go to 500 GB?
250 - 320 isn't much of a bump.

Hi:
Yes I see that the service manual states what size drives are supported, but that is just because those are the only size HP installed in that model series.
With SATA drives you can theoretically go to at least 1 TB (the problem being with your notebook, a 1 TB drive is probably too thick to fit in the drive bay).
A 500 GB HDD (or 320 GB) will work with no problems at all.

If you want a recommendation...get a WD Caviar Black of the size you want (NTE 750 GB).
