Compaq Presario CQ60-DX215 Problem

Two months ago I bought a Compaq Presario CQ60-DX215 from Best Buy. I brought it home, unpackaged it, worked fine. It has been working perfect until now.

My AC adapter stopped working instantly, but the computer still ran all programs as normal. I didn't know what the problem was so I tried rebooting to see if that would work. Once I started it up, I got an instant error. It rebooted my computer so fast I didn't have time to read it, it repeatedly restarted my laptop until I looked on the Compaq website to find some help. So far all I've gotten it to do is to stop auto-restarting and I can now read the error, it is written in white text on a blue screen.

 


A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

 

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

 

Disable or uninstall any anti-virus, disk defragmentation.....


Sorry, didn't get the whole error, I am running without an AC adapter to charge it, it shut down while I was typing...

 

If anyone has any suggestions or help! Please tell me! I can't even charge it now...

With your computer being so new, I would recommend that you take it back to Best Buy and explain the problem.  It might take some time for them to send it out, but it beats doing something that would void your warranty.
