Compaq Presario V2000 - Sudden White Screen & Won't Work After

Today, I was just doing the usual things I normaly do on my (old) laptop. All of a sudden, the screen turns white and I can't do anything at all. I can hear some things going on like chat rooms but I couldn't see anything. So, I decided to turn off my laptop.

But when I turned it on again, the lights on the keyboard flash and the CD Drive makes a sound but nothing happens. Then it keeps doing the same thing over and over, lights flash and CD drive makes a sound. The screen doesn't even show/light up. I tried things like check the fan to see if it may be dust that's clogging it up, and turned off the laptop and waited a couple of minutes and then turned it back on but I still get the same result. I never experienced this problem before so I dunno what happened.

 I really need help. Thanks in advance if you help!

My laptop is doing the same EXACT thing...just did it last night....If anyone can help that would be great.

in this case please turn the laptop off and discconect the laptop from power source remove the battery and the press and hold the power button for 15 sec and then put the battery back in and try if that doesnot work try reseating the ram and hdd and if that also doesnot work then most probably its the faulty motherboard

did everything as follows and still the same problem....does this sequence of lights represent a flash code of what the problem may be? just seems very strange that it worked perfectly and all of a sudden dead....the laptop was stationary on a table at the time as well.

that probably means that your laptop has a bad motherboard in this case you can go to best buy and check out whats the price of a motherboard (i guess will be more than 350$) or else you can may be call up HP and can get a new laptop for around 500-600$ best configuration i ve got one from them and it works awesome ...!!!!

I have get this problem, and i have solve it . i forget to charge the battery. so the battery very low, still have the light of the flashs, but i can't do anything.
