Re: Custmer care support

I'm guessing if you bought it in 2004 it is out of warranty.  Try looking for a replacement keyboard online, they are not too hard to replace yourself.

    Hi:

Most business notebooks, which the nx7010 is, have a 3 year warranty.

As Knute suggested, replacing the keyboard on this model is fairly simple. Should take no more than 5-10 minutes.

Here is the link to the service manual for the nx7010 which gives detailed instructions on removing and replacing parts.

    http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00072544/c00072544.pdf

Keyboard replacement is found in Chapter 5, pages 5-15 to 5-18. Be sure to read the preliminary info regarding disassembly first! This includes things like removing the battery and A/C power before you begin taking the thing apart.

It also provides part numbers for all components such as keyboards. Note the keyboards have different part numbers depending on what country or part of the world you live in. See Chapter 3, page 3-5.

Once you identify the part number you can order it from HP if it is still available or find it elsewhere at a computer supply store or on eBay.
