I purchased an HP notebook at Costco in Dec. 2010. In September 2011 the display went totally black. Sent it back to HP to be repaired. Now it is Feb. 2012 and it happened again. Only HP won't stand behind the product because it is now out of warranty even though the problem was brought to their attention within the 12 month warranty period. Somehow this is my fault because when it was repaired last year, the repair only lasted for 3 months. In addition I was told by the case manager that I could not talk to their supervisor about this. They are NOT ALLOWED to forward complaints on to the next level!!!!! I am so angry i could spit!!

I would take it back to Costco and explain your situation, be polite but firm, ask for a refund, they are a fair company and may help you out. Take your original Costco receipt if you have it, they should be able to look up the purchase which is tied to the Costco account which it was purchased under.
You can also send a polite email to the HP CEO Executive team
