Hi, I updated the bios on my laptop dv9830us. The update I downloaded from offical web site and it was 30ccp5fa.However after updating the laptop won't start up (I'd done updating in Windows 7 just ran updating file and followed all instruction) all LEDs light and the fun makes a noise. No buttons work even F10, I can't reache the BIOS because I see only the black screen. I've tried to do a recovery especially the bios recovery as I found successful methods (for most laptops) on forums but those methods don't work for my laptop or I din't know right button combination to do that ( on forums it was Fn+ESC+power or Fn+C+power or Fn+B+power or Win+B+power or Win+C+power without a battery but with pluged AC and the created Phoenix crisis recovery CD-rom disk or USB crisis recovery flashcard but neither of those methods worked. I hope it works with USB floppy disk with the created Phoenix crisis recovery on it , I've not already tried it but I'm going. Could you suggest me what the button combination is appropriate for my lapyop dv9830us to start bios recovery from the floppy disk?
Thank you.

Do a hard reset
Unplug AC and main battery, hold the power button down for 20 seconds, plug in AC only and try to power up.
If this does not work, repeat the procedure, but this time also remove the cmos (RTC) battery for 15 minutes, reinsert the cmos battery the same polarity as it was removed, plug in AC and power up, if you get the HP logo splash screen immediately F10 into the bios and set the date and time (before windows loads). Save changes to bios and exit.
CMOS (RTC) battery should be under the memory module cover.
This manual should be close to your model

Hi. Thank you for helping.
I haven’t answered for long time because I had a problem with authorization in here.
I have tried all what you suggested even more I changed the bios battery for a new one but it didn't help. The laptop is still not working. I'm quit desperate. What can I do else except going to a service centre?

I tried alt+f12 but it didn't work. A floppy disk doesn't work as well. This model is not user friendly, many notebooks have bios recovery method but my not, and it’s not fair. Why HP specialists can't tell me magic keys?

Hi,
Check this thread.
Use Mr0wyx method (last reply).
Notes:
- This is user to user forum.
- Bios update is always very risky. You will perform this method at your own risk. I do not take responsibility for any problems.

Nice find, thanks. It is for a different model and may or may not work, worth a try I suppose.

you will need to take it to a hp dealer and let them get it back up for you so ask them there when you take it in ok
