Detected Product

On the bottom of my laptop it says I have an HP Pavillion DV2000z, however when I use detect product hp says I have an HP Pavilion dv2125nr and gives me completely different Serial and Product numbers than I have on my laptop. Which of the two is valid? Also, the laptop orginally came with Windows Vista and I purchased Windows 7 and I would like to upgrade my driver but hp only allows both the Dv200z and dv2125nr to uprade drivers if they run on OS Windows Vista so how would I upgrade?

Re: Detected Product

The HP detect tool reads the bios tatoo information, not sure why it is different than the sticker on the notebook.

To see this bios tattoo information use F1 key at the very beginning of powering up the notebook, this will display the bios information the HP detect tool is reading.
