I have an Elitebook 8560p running Windows 7 which I purchased in March. The wireless button reverts from white to amber after it has been running for some time, while still connected, and always now after sleep or hibernation. However the wireless is still connected and working fine! I have also had (intermittently) the caps lock come on spontaneously along with the num lock (in mid sentence!), and when I press those buttons (indicating they should be on) the effect turns off ie it works in reverse. When this happens control key does not work and takes on characteristics of shif+ctrl or something else, Have also lost mouse pad and bottom mouse buttons but stick mouse and top buttons remain working. And also from time to time the mouse won't select as it should - it hightlights more text than it should, more emails or whatever. Sometimes this one rights itself. A cold restart fixes all these problems and the amber wireless button anomaly is the only one that is guaranteed to happen every day. The problems have been increasing gradually. I have not made any system changes.

Are u still facing issues with shift keys?
If yes... then try to turn off the wifi and then check if shift keys work.
