Envy 14 startup error

Hi all, Last day, I turned on my Envy14 and I got a black-screen where I was asked to choose between (F2) ... and (ENTER). I chose to run the Start-Up Test and I got the following message: SMART Check : FAILED FAILURE ID : UC07PF-5NB62J-XD6V5G-60AA03 PRODUCT ID : LW397UA#ABA Hard Disk 1 I have a Windows 7 Home Edition SP1 (64-bit) running on an HP Envy14 (Intel Core i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHz). Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thank you eborap

The Hard Disk Drive (HDD) is no good, it failed the S.M.A.R.T. test, it needs to be replaced.

If the notebook is still under warranty, make the call to the ENVY Concierge Service (1-866-408-5408) and set up a repair/replacement order.

You will not get the old HDD back to do data recovery.

I hope you have a backup or have stored your personal file off the OS drive, if you haven't, chances are they are all lost.

There are quite a few programs to recover your files, but the HDD has to be operating.

You can order the printed circuit board for the HDD, replace it, and recover the data, it could even continue working for quite some time.

The PCB is the most common failure of new HDD's, replacing one is that difficult.

You could have this done locally.

If you have an Solid State Drive (SSD),,,,,you're totally out of luck.
