Experiencing problems - want to go back to the beginning or fix.

Two weeks ago I purchashed a  "HDX X16-1358CA Premium Notebook PC".

What I have loaded onto it: I have the trial version of Norton that came with the computer, TextPad, my Adobe programs, Firefox and Treesize free.

What I have saved: About 10 images, 5 txt files, 1 font.

Problem 1: Everytime I start up my computer I get a error message that "HP media Smart TV Resident Program has stoped working". This started after I ran my battery down the first time I used it.

Problem 2: Sometimes when I click on folders, "windows?" stops working and then the  whole screen goes blank except for my background then everything appears again.

Problem 3: I seem to be eating through memory at an allarming rate. I have apparently have used over 100GB already, but I have to clue where. I downloaded Treesize to try to find out, but it can't find anything that large, even if I added 20-30 GB for things it may not be able to see.

Problem 4: Since I was experiencing these problems, I tried system restore. Apparently there was a error and it told me to undo what I did. Now whenever I start my comuter  get "System Restore did not complete sucessfully".

Problem 5: Not to do with my computer, but can anyone access the online chat help? When I go to select what modle my computer is/search I get an error message.

Since I have almost nothing loaded on this computer, I wouldn't mind resetting everything. I would love actually to go back to the beginning and start again. Either that or solve these problems, but I think the first option may be easier.

Thank you for any help in advance, I am new to laptops, so any step by step guides would be great :smileyhappy:

Re: Experiencing problems - want to go back to the beginning or fix.

Factory recovery will fix all your issues. To perform a system recovery push F11 on boot and follow the instructions. Say no to system restore, yes to recovery. wait 40 mins and enjoy.

[ Edited ]

I tired the recovery which fixed every problem but one :smileyhappy:

I seem to have two 'Program file folders'. Whenever I load a program, it creates a folder in each... one is called 'Program files' the other one is caled 'Program files (x86)'. I tried to delete one of them, but it says I need permission even though I clicked yes to all the pop up windows....

This happened after I tried to download java for a class I am taking. 1/2 through installing, it became unresponcive and closed down, now I can't complete instalation nor can I delete the unusable prgram :smileysad:

I also still get an error message whenever I try to contact live chat. Have I not dowloaded somthing I need?
