I have been having a problem with my G61 Laptop since the day I got it almost a year and a half ago.
Like an idiot, I've put up with it until now that it is out of warranty, but it has finally aggravated me to the point where it's either fix it, or throw the danged thing through the wall.
The keys on this system have multiple functions like pretty much every keyboard, and this one has a number of keys with blue alternate functions.
My issue is that these alternate functions will spontaneously activate, I'm assuming by me when I inadvertantly hit two keys at once and activate them, but I have never been able to find the combination to either activate, or deactivate them.
When they are active, I lose the priciple function of those keys, such as ?,@,", etc., and I cannot create documents until I reboot, of course losing the document in the processs.
There is not even a mention of the blue alternate functions in the laughable excuse for an operators manual that comes with the box, nor have I been able to find any reference to them on the HP "Support" site.
I would be pathetically grateful if someone could please tell me which keystrokes activate and deactivate the alternate blue key functions.
Thank you!

I have an answer!
I spoke with someone at HP Support today, and it is pretty much exactly what I figured.
I was inadvertantly hitting a sequence of keys that activated the blue keys.
The key sequence is "Ctrl + Left Shift +Right Shift", which activates and deactivates the blue keys...éééÉÉÉÉèèèèÈÈÈÈ etc.
Hit them again and you get your proper keys, /?/?/?/?""""""", etc., back.
Woo Hoo!
