Re: HP Care Pack DM4

Your care pack warranty would sate if it included accidental damage or not, depending on how you purchased it HP may show some details about the warranty if you use the link below. This page will only be accurate it you purchased the carepack warranty using the HP website or by direct contact with HP.

Here is an example, it your read the bottom section "Bundled Support" its states "Accidental Damage Protection" If yours only shows a "base warranty", then you do not have ADP.

Re: HP Care Pack DM4

I would replace the keyboard, they can usually be found on eBay for a reasonable price. This is usually cheaper than paying for a professional cleaning.

Some report that it can be cleaned yourself, requires removing it from the notebook and clean with generous amount of warm water and mild soap, let the water and soap soak a bit while cycling the keys, then rinse (do not submerge the keyboard), then let the keyboard thoroughly dry before putting it back in the notebook. Drying could take a couple of days in a low humidity environment like an air conditioned room or outside in the hot sunlight.

Here is your Service Manual, you can use it to get a HP part Number for your particular keyboard and instructions on how to replace it.

English (united states) keyboard is HP part number 608222-001
