HP DV4 Sleep mode not working?

I've only noticed this after several updates from HP website for my model (DV4 1431us).  So basically after the update, I can't put the pc into sleep mode anymore, once it turns itself to standby mode it'll just boot itself up and the login screen will show up, and if i continue to try to put it into sleep mode it'll just keep coming back.  What's the problem?? I have tried system restore, does not work.
