I purchased my HP Entertainment PC dv6 from Best Buy in January 2010. I only use it to check emails and keep track of my photos. Already the left touch pad button has come loose and I'm sure will fall off soon. Going back to university in Sept. I would like this to be resolved ASAP. Is there a way I can order just the left button without replacing the entire pad? The computer is no longer under warranty and I don't see the point of sending it in when it's just a button. If anyone else has experienced this problem or has found a solution please let me know. Thanks Concerned HP customer Jamie

Did you buy this new or refurbished? All new computers have a minimum 1 year factory warranty on them.
You'll have to replace the entire touchpad. HP does offer in-home repairs for a fee...you might call them and see if this would be covered under your warranty and if they have that service available. Otherwise, it takes 2-3 weeks (sometimes less) to have it sent to them and back to you.

Hello, I recently bought a HP Pavilion g6-1330eo Notebook PC. After 1 week, button in the left hand side of the touch pad is loose. Do you have any suggestions.

I have an HP DV4-1125nr PC and have had the same problem twice. The first time it was under warranty and HP replaced the lower top cover which surrounds the mouse pad and buttons. The second time I replaced it myself because it was out of warranty. There is a cheap plastic spring , which is part of the cover, that holds the button up in place. There have been several blogs on this in the past.

This again happened with my laptop only after 1 and 1/2 years owning the darn thing. The pad buttons have sensitive plastic tabs and mechinsims which can easily brak as with mine. I am searching for where I can purchase a new tocuh pad which appears to be an assembly after I opened it up.
