Hi,
I have recently done a fresh install of Windows 7 64bit on my HP EliteBook 2530p and everything has went well apart from the configuration of the fingerprint scanner.
The driver for the fingerprint scanner, Authentec AES 2810, has installed but the device is showing up with an exclamation mark in device manager.
Firstly the default windows driver from the windows update was installed and this resulted in the exclamation mark, then i downloaded and installed the driver from the HP Support website and i get the same.
Has anyone come across this problem and if so how do i get it fixed.
Thanks in advance for any help given.
Andrew

Hi,
Uninstall current Authentec driver for Windows 7.
Resource:
Uninstalling Software in Windows 7
Uninstall or change a program in Windows 7
Download and install:
HP ProtectTools Security Manager Suite here
This software package contains for example driver and software (Credential Manager) for fingerprint plus other things.
It will work for sure.
