HP G60-428CA Keyboard & Beep Issue

i have this HP G60-428CA laptop which is working great, just yesterday i found out this problem. Few keys on the keyboard not responding when typed; and another thing is when i reboot or switch on my laptop, a continuos beep sound arises.

This is generally caused by the laptop BIOS not detecting that a keyboard is plugged in. You may want to find instructions for disassembling the laptop, and checking to make sure that the keyboard cable is seated properly. Dusting it off would not be a bad idea. As always, be very careful not to lose screws and be sure to not shock your laptop with static electricity. Happy disassembling.

@ scolton.. i've tried what you said earlier, updated the BIOS, checking the keyboard cable & making sure it's attached properly. Now that did not help either ..

Could be a broken keyboard socket...

Now if that happens does that mean i have to buy another laptop or is it fixable?

or do i need a new motherboard?
