Re: HP G60 Notebook

You just need the product number of your notebook. It should be located on the service tag on the bottom of the notebook. It may even be underneath the battery. It will be right next the model and serial number of the unit.

Here is a document that may help.

Purchasing a Replacement Battery

You can also search for the battery you need from your laptop model number or battery number.

Re: HP G60 Notebook

Kaylona,

Will the notebook not boot into windows or are you just getting a black screen?

Try performing a hard reset.

Re: HP G60 Notebook

When I go to turn it on, it won't do anything. I slide the turn on button and nothing. Nothing on the screen, it stays black. No sound or anything.

Re: HP G60 Notebook

Are there any lights on the unit?

Did you try performing a hard reset.....

To perform a hard reset, follow the steps below.
  1. Unplug the AC adapter from the notebook PC.
  2. Remove the battery from the notebook battery compartment.
  3. Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station, disconnect cables to printers or devices such as external monitors, USB memory sticks or SD cards, headset or external speakers, mouse or auxiliary keyboard, turn off WIFI and Bluetooth wireless devices.
  4. Press and hold down the power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual electrical charge from the capacitors that protect the memory.
  5. Insert the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the notebook PC; but do not connect any of the peripheral devices.
  6. Press the power button to turn the notebook PC back on.
  7. If prompted to boot into Safe Mode or select a special type of start up, use the arrow keys to highlight Start Windows Normally , and then press the enter key.
