HP G60 power and charging problem

I have an HP pavilion G60, I used a HDMI cable to connect it to a tv and black smoke came from the laptop charger. I immediately unplugged everything. I later turned the laptop back on just using the battery, and everything worked fine. the battery has since died, and  I ordered a new charger. the laptop won't power on with or without the battery in.

I then replaced the d/c jack and tried again, but it won't power on. I put in a battery from a family members computer to make sure that it still works. and it does.

 

I need help figuring out what I can do to make it charge my battery again. if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.
