I have an HP G6000 (G6031EA) laptop that will not start, or show signs of starting, beyond a few lights going on.
If I press the power button, the following light up for a second: power button, wireless, front power light and, before shutting off, the touchpad light flashes.
There are no beeps and the caps/scoll lights do not come on.
If I connect the power adaptor, the power lights at the front and at the power adaptor connector light up, so I assume it's not the fault of the adaptor.
On some attempts to power up, the lights will stay on for maybe 15 seconds before going dead.
I've tried reseating RAM and clearing CMOS with insert/scroll combinations - didn't work.
I'm thinking it's a PSU or motherboard problem
Can you help?

Hi there,
Trust me on this one,
Take the laptop apart, take out the motherboard, remove the fan,
and bake the entire board in the oven for 10 minutes at 200-230c
I hope this helps.
Smileygeckos.
PS. This fix seems to be temporary. Fixing the problem for a few
weeks at most, so back up the stuff on it and buy a non-hp laptop.
