Hi,

If the Recovery Partition on the notebook is Ok, try the following.  Shut down the notebook, then tap away at f11 as soon as you press the power button to see if this will launch Recovery Manager - if it does, you can use this to return the notebook to 'Factory Condition'.

Another option, if you have created your set of Recovery Discs, is to insert the first disc and then restart the notebook to boot from the disc and start the recovery procedure this way.

If neither of the above apply, you can order a replacement set of Recovery Discs using the link below.

If you have any problem with this link, order them directly from HP.

Sorry 😧 I tried the above and when I repeatedy tap f11 from startup (G61 laptop too) it says "F11...System Recovery" then nothing happens and it starts up as per usual, is this supposed to happen?

Hello 9031benjy,

I see that you are having problems with restoring the factory settings on your HP computer. I have a couple of suggestions that may help with this issue.

Here is a link that shows how to run a system recovery. Follow the steps in the link under the option "Recovery from Windows".

Let me know what happens.

Good Day,

I have the G61-429WM laptop.  This laptop could not startup with blank screen, and the CAP and Numlock LEDs blinking continuously at once per second interval.  Can you help?

Thanks,

QH
