This computer had a virus, so I attempted to do a recover with the (F11) option at boot. The recover failed at 1% of formatting the Windows partition with error code 0xe0ef003. I booted from a flash drive and ran tests on the hardware (memtest86, smart, chkdsk, Hitachi's Drive Fitness Test), and there were no errors with any of the hardware.
I then noticed that the entire partition table on this drive is screwed up, and I'm really not sure how it happened. The recovery partition is there, and all the files are as well, but the partition table itself is not as it was with factory settings. I want to restore the partition table to exactly as it was at factory settings, but I am not finding any guides on how to do so. I'm talking about the geometry, drive order, everything. Also, the HP_TOOLS partition is gone, and I'd probably like to restore that as well.
