Mine did the exact same thing along with the touchpad that stopped working also. I had to send my computer in and they had to replace the whole touchpad and keyboard. They had me trouble shoot every single little thing they could imagine and not one thing worked!

The good news is that there is a solution to the problem, the bad news is that I have upgraded to a competitors laptop as I use the HP Pavilion for business and can't afford to to be anything other than highly confident in the reliability the tool.![]()

Did you get a response to this because I am having same problems.
I type and by the time I get to the 3rd line the cursor flys up to another line or all of a sudden a previous cut and past is on the page.
it is weird and has been happening since I bought it.
I went to Sams and the same machine is there and when I type on it, nothing goes wrong.
I am beginning to wonder if it is a MS office prob...

My keyboard problem was resolved by having the computer restored (recovery) and then not installing norton 360. Norton interfered with software on the computer.
I was having issues with not able to type. Issues with backspace key typing 000000.
Arrows showing up when I went to type and not able to type at all.
I was told that I should get Mc Caffe instead of Norton.
I hope I helped you!

I have had problems with my HP laptop since I purchased it. I tried in vain for the first 3 months to get HP to replace it but was unsuccessful. My first call to them was only one week after I purchased. They wanted me to ship my NEW computer in for REPAIRS. When I insisted I wanted a replacement not repairs to my brand new computer, they became very defensive, I finally gave up. My backspace key OFTEN doubles as a DELETE key. Sometimes when I type a long letter then hit the BACKSPACE key to correct something, it erases the entire text. My screen freezes on a regular basis but I've learned if I click on my IE icon, it will unlock. (??) Shortly after purchasing my new laptop and having all the problems I researched online for comments and complaints on HP Products and learned that my same problems are shared by MANY others.
Before purchasing this HP I had a VAIO, never had one minute of problems with it, NEVER. I will never purchase another HP product !!

I think you are having much more than the sticky key problem.
That problem about the keyboard that is predominant in the complaints here is that as you type all of a sudden the cursor is else where on your document. And yes, often text disappears. SO annoying.
And yes, I was told it was my resting my palm on the touchpad. go figure, I've only been using laptops for 20 years.
HP was of no help.
And yes, my other is a VIAO. I will definitely be looking to go in another Vendor direction on my renewal.
What did work is a product called TouchFreeze. It is free and can be downloaded and easily sets into the system. I did it and immediately thought my keyboard had been replaced. It's been almost a year now.
What I don't get is that everyone (HP) is on you to purchase their product, but then your left having to resolve the issue on your own.
I do appreciate their support forum here though to allow us to be honest.
K
