Hello,
I casually noticed that the process named WmiPrvSe was having frequent spikes of CPU usage, going from 0 to about 35% every 5 seconds or so.
I did an in-depth troubleshooting and could trace the cause back to two HP Assistant services: Power Assistant and Wireless Assistant. Stopping both services puts WmiPrvSe to rest.
I have disabled both of them since they are not critical but I'm wondering if anyone else noticed the same behaviour.
Thanks
See below my system specs:
HP Elitebook 8440p , 8Gb RAM
OS Windows 7 64bit
S.

This is a known problem with older versions of wireless assitant, upgrade your wireless assitant software.
