HP Quickdock for Notebooks

Hi! I currently own an HP Pavilion (dv9620us) and was interested in buying a Quickdock but was wondering if it was possible to use dual monitors not including the laptop itself? According to the ports used, I could plug one monitor into the Quickdock and one into the VGA port on the laptop itself but will the computer be able to recognize them?
