Hey guys, thanks for the help in advance.
I have an HP Pavilion Dv6-3100 laptop with Windows 7. It has an AMD Quad Processor.
My computers monitor has been a little weird for a while but it didn't interfere with my work. If the laptop isn't held in the right position the screen doesn't work. However, yesterday, the screen went completely white. I turned it off and started it back up. The computer turns on, asks if I want to start windows normally or safe mode. And no matter which one I pick, it goes to the Windows logo, passes it, and then goes to a black screen where only the mouse visible (and moveable).
I tried running Startup Repair, but it didn't help. I also tried testing my power, unplugging, removing battery, and safe mode with networking. But none of them worked.
Thanks again for all the help

Sounds like you have a serious graphics issue related to the motherboard, you need to get this hardware issue repaired before you can do much else.
