**bleep**...even after changing my password, getting the email link to do it again, even after all that, I've had to go through it again to respond to you..
Also, since I got the new computer, I've been inundated with calls from "windows" telling me I needed to press a few buttons,etc....but ONLY since I've bought this new computer.. doesn't matter what I tell them, they still call back...I've spoken with HP since about this, but they say "they have nothing to do with it"...
Now, the equipment, ITSELF, is very nice. it does as it was supposed to do even after I had to go through what I went through. But, after all the time and energy I went through to get it, it's not really worth that much energy. I'd much rather have gone to a computer store and bought one off the shelf.
When you are speaking with "customer service", you might get a person that really cares or at least actslike they do...but DO NOT HANG UP with them...KEEP THEM on the phone, get their employee ID, ANYTHING that can help you go back to the original conversation. If you can't get back to them...I suggest you go to their corporate sales people. I had to look them up on the fine-print on the bottom of the website. Find the distributor...Palo Alto, California is where they are really located. Mind you, when you call them in Palo Alto, you may end up somewhere in Canada (Vancouver, I think)...their "switchboard" is 3 or 4 thousand miles from where you want to be, and the people at the switchboard do not have any more idea of what to do than the server at McDonalds when you ask for their corporate offices.
I have also SPECIFICALLY told them I DO NOT want my calls routed to the Phillipines. I have INSISTED that this happens if I should call them. IF I call them and end up in the Phillipines, I INSIST they transfer me to the continental US. From that point on, it's not amusing, and I do not explain myself, but tell them they screwed up again.
I'm a customer service nightmare, and I stand strongly about what I believe in our American jobs and our employment levels, how those multi-billion dollar industries treat the people that have all but GIVEN them their money for cheap products, and am insulted when a person answers the phone that is not American...I could go on and on about that....
I also know this is typical of MOST major corporations (AT&T, Verizon, Comcast, Time/Warner, your local power company, gas company, etc....)..the consumer has no control over what the corporation is doing to them: {Content Removed}

I find it rather amusing that the sentence
|the consumer has no control over what the corporation is doing to them:
Is followed by "content removed" because it was edited by a moderator.

Well, I've made a sixth and final attempt to order this computer. I'm paying through paypal, have had paypal verify all my addresses and everything they possibly can. All the issues customer service told be about have been addressed.
I should know in the next couple hours. If it doesn't go through this time I'll be buying an Asus.
Wish me luck.
