So I recently reset my password to log in to my main user account. I mostly used the finger scanner and one day it decided that I needed to enter a password and wouldn't accept any of my fingers that were scanned. I didn't create a password drive because I didn't know about it before. I forgot my password and so I am unable to use any of my adminstrative priveliges. Anything I can do to reset it or do I have to clear my hard drive to make it "new" again??

Hi,
Shut down the notebook. Tap away at f8 as soon as you press the power button to access Windows Recovery Console. Use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode and hit enter - does Windows load in this mode?

It's not a matter of loading Windows. I can't log in to my main user account because I forgot my password it won't let me use the finger scanner. Is there a way to like reboot the computer or something so that the hard drive is wiped clean?

Hi,
Do you have any data on the notebook that you need to keep as reinstalling Windows will erase them?

I don't have any major things on there. I save most of my stuff on flash drives anyways with the exception of a few programs but they are easily redownloadable.

Hi,
Ok, try the following.
1. Shut down the notebook
2. Start tapping away at f11 as soon as you press the power button to launch Recovery Manager which you can then use to reinstall Windows.

This should work even if I didn't uninstall Windows?

Hi,
Yes, it will perform a quick format of the Hard Drive and then reinstall a fresh copy of Windows - as I mentioned before, all your personal files will be wiped.
