How do I turn on my internal webcam?!

I have never used my web cam before and I can't seem to get it to work on my G71 Notebook. The Light lights up but I receive no picture

I used Skype and messaging when I first bought this HP DV4 notebook in 2009.  Everything was working find until a few months ago....nothing new happening with my computer except service  I switched from Sprint to AT &T.  I have checked my programs and HP Media Smart for the correct audio/video program to explore for a switch or something to turn on my webcam.  Nothing.  Skype says all is working fine on their end.

Can you please help me out?

When i click on my webcam this message shows up.

"no webcam detected. try plugging in a webcam into your computer now.if you are using an intergrated camera, make sure that it is turned on."

I need a solution to my built in webcam on my hp-625 note book , i have windows home p, i once upgraded to windows pro then to windows 8 after having problems with windows 8 i did a restore and it was windows home  pre and now my webcam is not working and there is nothing in the divice manager HELP

call HP when I tryed to use my cyberlink webcamera ...it said no web camera detected....after calling HP its a Hardwear problem and they send out the new parts ...lucky still under warrenty......good luck
