How do I turn on my internal webcam?!

I have tried everything!! Someone please help me. I cannot figure out how to turn on my internal webcam for the life of me. I have a 2010 HP laptop (not sure of the model's name) however, I have an internal webcam and it is always turned off... how do I turn it on?!

Locate the exact product number, heres how

Provide the product number then we'll let you know how or if it even has one..

On HP notebook, that application that uses webcam are HP MediaSmart Webcam on Pavilions or Cyberlink Youcam on Preasrio.

If you have issue locating them or any error than as suggested alt_164, check of the exact model number of the notebook and post back...

I have this problem - my webcam used to work, but all of a sudden it disappeared. I did have my computer cleaned recently, maybe something switched it off then?

 

I tried installing HP Quickplay from here:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&lc=en&product=3255934&x=0&y.... I have Windows Vista (though I'm not sure if it's the 64-bit or not), but I tried both HP QuickPlay Web Updates (Software > Multimedia) to no avail.

 

I've tried a few other things, but nothing is working. It's a built in webcam that used to work perfectly and it is not physically damaged, but my laptop will not even recognize its existence - it does not appear at all in the control panel anywhere.

How can I get it back?

 

I have an HP Pavilion dv9500, and have had it for a few short years. On the underside beside "service" is says dv9620us.
