How do you recover items of vista backup partition or HP Recovery drive ?. . .

I have a Hp Laptop G70 -111EM with windows vista home premium installed it very recently developed a boot manger problem but i managed to use the esc key to take me to the options list and then use f11 which i think was the windows installations options and then i got also the backup & reinstall vista aswell, after this finally it was all installed.

I then could access the laptop normally, having to do the normal setup things as standard of course . . .

but now MY MAIN PROBLEM AT HAND  !..... is that i would like to access the recovery drive if possible, so if anyone knows how to do this i would be grateful.

as I would like to see if any of my backup things are on there i.e. personal

the first thing i did after getting this laptop back to semi normal was get it net running to post this lol !

so you want to get into the recovery partition.  The D: drive? Ok if that is the case what you will need to do is open COMPUTER from the start menu. Then click on  ORGANIZE from the top left. Then go to FOLDER AND SEARCH OPTIONS. Once the FOLDER OPTIONS window is open the 3 tabs on the top choose VIEW. Then scroll down and select SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS. Then uncheck HIDE PROTECTED OPERATING SYSTEM FILES.  Once that is done you will have access to the recovery partition.

thanks for posting the solution to ....this once i gained access to the drive i found it was just another windows software backup for vista so obviously nothing of if anything that i owned had been kept.. but hey im a freelance photographer so i can create new stuff.. anyway from now its portable storage for me not my laptop for storage !..

i've had my laptop looked at proffessionally, so wiped and reinstalled working much better at the moment, so far anyway lol . .
