I have the same issue... also the blue lighting bold comes on sometimes? I have tried the reset using the power button, and every combination of the battery in /out power in/out.... I can get it to come on sometimes also if I remove the battery and power. reset by holding the power button and waiting about 10 minutes, but it does not work every time. Any help would bw GREAT!
PS the battery is new.
Thanks

Try starting the notebook with just one piece of memory and try both slots. Then try the other piece of memory and try both slots. If you only have one piece of memory, at least try the other slot.

I also removed every peripheral and tried to boot during...nothing. I noticed the cddrom spins 2 times and the fan spins up for about 3 seconds and shuts off.

I think this must be the video chip problem. Even though this is not your model, this has been a standard fix:

Danjen you are the man! that was it. I used a hand held infrared tem sensor and a heat gun to reflow the video chip. I kept the temp betweem 380 - 400 F for around 4 minutes then let cool for 30 minutes. reassembled and it works.

I have done this 3 times not and the fix only lasts a couple of weeks.... Is there a mod to help to keep the temp down on the video chip? I saw someone put a penny on it and it helped... is this for real?
I really think that the chip is over heating and that is causing the issue... Thanks!
