Intermittent keyboard issues with hp pavilion dv6 3108ea

I bought a refurbished hp pavilion dv6 3108ea laptop from PC World a couple of months ago, and almost right from the start I've noticed that some keys will occasionally stop working for a few minutes - the main one is the backspace key, but the space bar and enter keys have had the same problem. So far, they've always started working again without me having to restart the computer.

The laptop arrived with a French keyboard that I've mapped underneath to a British one - not sure if this is why the keys are malfunctioning or if it's a software issue (I'm assuming it's not a problem with the keys themselves, since it's an intermittent problem).

Is there anything I can do to get the keys working properly? According to PC World the laptop came with a 12-month warranty, so I could send it back if necessary, but I'm hoping I won't need to resort to that.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Re: Intermittent keyboard issues with hp pavilion dv6 3108ea

Have you tried an external keyboard? If you connect an external keyboard ant it works properly the trouble is likely the lap top keyboard, but if the external doesn't work any better then I would be looking for a software issue.

IF what I post solves your problem please click the "Problem solved" button on my post.
Oh, and if I have helped you, clicking the 'Kudos' star on my post would not hurt my feelings ether.

Thanks for replying - unfortunately I don't have an external keyboard, although I might have the chance to get one this weekend.
