Re: Is HP trying to sell off its defective computers?

I've read many of these posts and find that I have similar problems.  I have had 5 HP laptop computers bought within 8 year span. Two were for my daughters and three for me.  I never had problems with the laptop during the warranty period.  Interestingly, ALL laptops died within months of the warranty expiring.  I actually talked with HP several years ago regarding this coincidence. First, the number of laptops and all meeting their demise right after the warranty expired. A VP contacted me about my problems but nothing was really resolved.

I take great care of my lap tops. The proof is in the computers functionality during the warranty period never having a  problem.  Heck, if I wanted a problem, I would have done it during the coverage period. I wonder how many others also have had similar problems.  Now, on my sixth HP laptop (pricing is very competive), my battery is defective (so says the computer at startup).  Fourteen months after purchasing it, I called and they want over $100 for another one.  I think I might try an Apple the next go around.
