Is my processor poweful enough?

[ Edited ]

I'm getting no joy on AVG's free forum in answering my question, and I'm afraid I'm a real novice in these matters, as well as on here. I've been using AVG for years now, and I'm getting constant notifications to upgrade to their free version 9.0.

Im currently on their free version 8.5.

What is worrying me, as well as other matters is that it says system requirements are amonst other things - *" Intel Pentium 1.8 GHz processor or faster as per requirements for upgrading to version 9.0"

However my Compaq Presario CQ60 214EM shows me that it has Processor Genuine Intel CPU T1600 @ 1.66GHz. I've only had it 8 months.

I apologise in advance for appearing a bit dumb in these matters, but if anyone can advise if this is ok, or if not, what problems, if any could occur?

Appreciate any advice from anyone who maybe has actually downloaded the new free version of AVG and has the same laptop as me

Thanks

Sorry forgot to say I'm running Vista SP2

Re: Is my processor poweful enough?

You should be able to run the new avg program with no issues. If your notebook can run the trial of norton it can run any stand-alone anti virus. AVG is easier on the system then norton. I have installed this software program on a desktop from 2006 with a lower processor speed then it recommends
